The Jonny Smiles Team is named in memory of Jon Fifield - an amazing husband, brother, stepfather, uncle, and friend who lost his 2-year battle with synovial sarcoma in April 2021. Jonny had a gift for making people laugh and smile, even when he was sick and struggling. He hated seeing people sad, and if you weren't smiling, he made it his mission to get even the smallest smirk out of you. Jonny was well known for his sense of humor, jokes and one-liners, his overwhelming love for his german shepherd dogs, his extensive sock collection, and his wide array of costumes for every holiday (i.e., giving out turkeys while wearing an inflatable turkey costume). But above all, he was known for his big heart and generosity towards others.
The Jonny Smiles Team is joing the walk to carry on his hope of finding a cure and to continue his generosity in his memory.
Your support goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge research and compassionate patient care. Funds raised through the Jimmy Fund Walk enable Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
