WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER
Team Neuk the Leuk was started by Captain Jessica Stevens after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2014, 6 days before her 25th birthday. It is her honor to lead this team to raise funds for Dr. Dan DeAngelo, the man who saved her life, who spearheads a research team (alongside taking care of hundreds of patients) to find new and innovative cancer treatments. This research benefits far beyond just the walls of the Jimmy Fund Clinic, he shares his knowledge and learning with students and other cancer clinics worldwide as a professor of Harvard Medical. In 2021 & 2022, Neuk the Leuk added a new family to their roster -- the Theroux's -- Gracie, just 2 at the time was diagnosed with the same leukemia that Jess was and underwent the same grueling treatment for over 2 years. She truly is a superhero.
Jess and Gracie both finished treatment and are healthy and grateful to have their lives back!
Together, the two families are raising funds to ensure that ALL families get the same happy ending that Jess and Gracie got. Right now that is not the case and Team Neuk the Leuk won't stop until it is!
100% of your support goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Dr. D's life-saving research fund to find treatments and cures for those cancers not yet understood.
