WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER
I am participating in the 2023 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
Most of you know that in 2008 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer where the cells were doubling AND eating healthy cells at a rate that would have immediately become stage 4. My OB/GYN Dr. Rufleth knew the only place I should be was Dana Farber. Upon meeting Dr. Muto and his team I was made to feel confident and secure. I am LIVING PROOF that the work at Dana Farber saves lives.
My team does not walk every year, but this year, with a new hip and the 15 year milestone, I knew it was time to get back on the path to help raise money for this incredible institute. This year I walk for Jude and Hays, at ages 3 and 87, they are also living proof. I also walk to honor the memories of Joanie, Ann, Oscar, and Olivia. May these angels know they are alive in our hearts always.
