WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

This year mark’s the 10th year walking for our Captain Lisa Call!!  And her beloved Rosie Mitchell is ‘walking’ in her motorized wheelchair this year.  She has a rare cancer, DLGNT, and is truly a force of nature.  Rosie is my muse, and not just in walking this year.  See more of Rosie here from when she was on NESN with WEEI during the Jimmy Fund Telethon at Fenway.

Our team includes Lisa and Jonny, along with Nurse Andrea doing the half marathon. David Call and Lisa’s 81 year old, cancer surviving mother Linda (Mary if searching her by name) Marcella are walking 10K.  We will veer off the marathon a bit to pick up Rosie and her mom Mary Lohman Mitchell on Brookline Avenue to do the final 5K together!  This year the route ends at Boston’s iconic Fenway Park!

Your support goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge research and compassionate patient care. Funds raised through the Jimmy Fund Walk enable Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.

Thank you for supporting our team in the Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can defy cancer!  DFCI is saving Rosie’s life and has already saved Lisa’s, so please give today.
