Team Neuk the Leuk was started and is captained by Jess (Moran) Stevens after her battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She was diagnosed 6 days before her 25th birtdhday and spent the following 26 months battling the disease with her family and friends by her side. She was ultimately cured thanks to the life-saving science that had come before her and because of the incredible care of her doctors and nurses at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Leading the charge was her main oncologist Dr. Dan DeAngelo --who is the Chief of the Division of Leukemia, and a professor at Harvard Medical School. He also leads the Hematology Research group which works everyday to find new treatments and cures for those sorts of blood cancers that do not yet have a cure.
This year is Jess's 10th anniversary since her diagnosis on February 20, 2014 -- to date, Neuk the Leuk has raised $82,855 for Dr. D's research fund -- Jess's goal is to raise $17,145 this year to hit $100,000!
We would love to have you as a part of our team or if you can't walk, please consider contributing to our efforts. Every dollar of your donation goes directly to Dr. DeAngelo's research fund so that more individuals diagnosed with leukemia can have the outcome Jess was so blessed to receive.
Thank you for supporting our Jimmy Fund Walk team!
