Join our National Grid team, the Boob Brigade, in taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer. Walk with us on Sunday, October 6, 2024 in the 2024 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai to support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The funds we raise directly support the innovative research and compassionate patient care for children and adults with all types of cancer at Dana-Farber.
We started the Boob Brigade because this is a cause near and dear to many of us - many of us have been personally impacted by cancer, either ourselves or within our immediate families, including team captain Sarah Danielson-Ewing:
This is the first year I am participating in this walk, and it is a particularly meaningful one for me as it falls on the one-year anniversary of my own breast cancer diagnosis. You never expect to hear the words ‘I’m sorry, there is something there and it does looks suspicious,’ let alone at 34 with a new baby. By the time this walk rolls around, I’ll have undergone a double mastectomy, completed 20 weeks of chemotherapy, and 5 weeks of radiation, and will still be undergoing immunotherapy. Despite all of this, I am surviving and thriving, in no small part due to the treatment I received from Dana Farber. This is my chance to give back, and I hope you can join me!
