June of 2022, I went for my routine mammogram where they found a lump in my left breast. The following month was when I had a biopsy, and I received a call from a doctor telling me that I had Breast Cancer Stage 0 (It was caught early). From there I went for a lumpectomy and when the results came back it was noted that an invasive tumor was found. Over the next several months I met with Dr. Natilie Sinclair at Dana Faber and with my genetic disease of Neurofibromatosis (NF1), we all decided that a Double Mastectomy was the best course. May 4th was the day I had a Double Mastectomy with reconstruction. So, one year later it brings me to today healthy, happy, and telling funny stories about my journey.
Telling my Family and Friends was the most difficult thing to do, but I couldn't get through the next journey in my life without them. They have been my ears, eyes, and back bone and my best cheering squad out there. This is where I became the Brave Little Toaster.
