WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER
Team “Lymphoma Warriors” was created in 2023 to raise needed funds in support of Dana Farber’s Hematologic Malignancies Research. Our family was inspired to dedicate our Dana Farber fundraising efforts to Dr. Matthew Davids and his team after seeing first-hand the impact cutting edge research has on improving care, quality of life and even life expectancy for those diagnosed with lymphoma.
Our forever Captain, Jay Perry, was miraculously diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive T-Cell Lymphoma (AITL) in the summer of 2021 by Dr. Davids and his team. This was after extensive illness and testing by many other world class medical establishments. There is no doubt we wouldn't be where we are today as a family without Dana Farber and Dr. Davids.
Bur our story is not unique - blood cancer is one of the most common cancers in the United States, with approximately one person diagnosed every 3 minutes. Thanks to the efforts of organizations like Dana Farber, the survival rates for those diagnosed have significantly increased over the last 50 years.
