WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

Will you join Team BuckyRogers in its 19th Annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk on Sunday, October 6?

This year is particularly sentimental as we will cross the finish line with having raised over $100,000 cumulatively since Team Captain, Kimmy Salley, started lacing up her shoes in 2006 (the team is just $3K away from reaching this amazing milestone!).

While members of the team are dedicated to walking in honor and memory of millions affected by cancer, they continue celebrate the lives of those who have inspired us to walk each year, including Team Captain, Kimmy Salley's, Gramps, Harold Bucky Rogers, who passed away from acute leukemia in 2006 and her auntie Claire Fowler and uncle Thomas Salley who passed away within three days of each other last October.

We hope you will consider joining Team BuckyRogers this year and being part of the $100K Club! If you can’t walk physically there is an option to raise funds virtually and we’d gladly have you participate in spirit.

There are other shorter walk options available (and our team will meet you wherever you decide to start!):

  • 26.2 miles (full marathon)
  • 13.1 miles (half marathon)
  • 10K
  • 5K

Together against cancer,

Team BuckyRogers

P.S. Traditionally the team has walked 13.1 miles of the BMJFW (13 was Gramp’s favorite/lucky number), but this year some of us will be walking for the third time, the full 26.2 miles in memory of Claire's and Tommy's courageous battles. If you’ve been inspired to lace up your shoes for any portion of the marathon (or virtually), we’d love to have you join us. Xo
