On October 6th, we will be participating in the Jimmy Fund Walk in support of our son, Callum. In April, Callum was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hepatoblastoma.
It’s been a really tough few months but we’re grateful to have Callum in the care of Jimmy Fund Clinic/Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children’s Hospital jointly operate the Jimmy Fund Clinic, and 87 cents of every dollar donated to their charity fund go directly toward developing new treatments for childhood cancers as well as community care funds to help low-income families take on the financial burdens associated with a cancer diagnosis.
Aside from the Jimmy Fund Clinic’s admirable charity work and impressively efficient 87% program funding rate on contributions, they’ve created the most patient-centered care experience catering to these incredible little cancer warriors. Chemotherapy infusion days are long, but from arts and crafts and music lessons to theme weeks and the incredibly warm and thoughtful staff, JFC has found a way to make chemo fun.
Please consider donating to help kids like Callum fight the battle of a lifetime. The latest Hepatoblastoma treatment protocol passed trials less than a year before Callum’s diagnosis, and ongoing research is the only way to improve patient outcomes.
Thank you for supporting Callum and our team in the Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can defy cancer!
