Emily is alive because of research. In 2009, she was diagnosed with stage IV high-risk neuroblastoma. The trial she participated in changed the protocol of care for NB patients.
We were blessed she lived. Research helped but more is needed to design a protocol of care that's less toxic. Emily's treatment left her legally deaf and with endocrine, kidney, and height damage. We can do more!
Emily's a sophomore at Holy Cross this year. She's living proof that funding research saves lives.
