By participating in the 2024 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, our team is making every step count toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
Earlier this year, I (Sarah) was diagnosed with Cardiac Angiosarcoma. Of the nearly 1.7 million cancer cases diagnosed each year, only about 25 are Cardiac Angiosarcoma. The average survival rate of Cardiac Angiosarcoma is about 10 to 16 months. The rarity of this cancer and sarcomas as a whole makes diagnosis difficult and prognoses poor. While I might not get the opportunity to see a cure for sarcoma, our efforts now, as small as they may be, will work towards a future where no one has to see their life cut short by cancer.
The care I receive at Dana-Farber is unmatched, and I am forever grateful to be a patient here. DFCI’s nurses, doctors, and services have given me peace of mind and the opportunity to live my best life despite my diagnosis. I couldn’t imagine putting my life in anyone else’s hands.
We thank you for your consideration in donating to this amazing institution, where cutting-edge research and compassionate care are paving the way towards a world without cancer.
Love,
“The Sarcomanators”
