We are teaming up to run the 2024 Beach to Beacon 10k on August 3, 2024 in an effort to fundraise for Dana-Farber.
This organization is important to us, and our family, because cancer has affected many people we love. Our great-grandparents, two grandparents, great aunts and uncles, two aunts, neighbors, and the sweetest little girl in our town have all battled this disease. Fortunately, many of our loved ones have successfully beaten cancer. However, some of our friends and family members have not had the same success with this dreadful disease. There is still so much research and work to be done.
Since we were young, our family has fundraised for Dana-Farber in a variety of ways. Growing up we watched our mother run road races for Dana-Farber, and as runners it is important for us to carry on this tradition. When we were younger we set up lemonade stands, participated in the Pan Mass Kids Challenge, had yard sales, and sold homemade holiday cards. Now that we are older we are combining our love for running with our desire to help people by fundraising for Dana-Farber (this is Ella’s second year running for Dana-Farber).
