Dear Friends,
This summer, the girls and I will be running the Falmouth Road Race (at home edition) as part of the team Adelia The Wondergirl. We are running for our friend Adelia and for a future without pediatric brain cancer.
We have committed to this race in honor of Adelia who was diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma in February 2023. For the fifteen months following her diagnosis, Adelia underwent 5 brain surgeries, 63 rounds of radiation, and countless other pokes, procedures and hospital visits. Something no child should ever have to endure.
We met Adelia at Old Colony Montessori where she became Caroline’s “first best friend.” Her infectious laugh, quick wit, kind heart and carefree spirit quickly won over the rest of our family and soon Adelia was treated like one of the girls. Meryl, Mike and Esme have become dear friends and they deserve better than the options they were given at Adelia’s diagnosis. Every family deserves a better chance to fight this horrible disease.
Please support our quest to fund a new Brain Tumor Center that will bridge Dana Farber and Boston Children’s. Together, we can accelerate the revolutionary research that is so desperately needed to find a cure.
While we can’t run in the official race, we will be completing all 7.2 miles together in the days leading up to the race and will be at the finish line cheering on all of the incredible members of our team who are dedicated to this cause.
Thank you for supporting us from the bottom of our hearts!
Adelia Strong Forever.
