Running for my Dad, Joe Gulotta.

As some of you may know I made the (somewhat crazy) decision to run a half-marathon in early November. In honor of my late father, I have decided to use this occasion to raise money for Dana Farber. In 2014, my dad was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a type of blood cancer. He received medical care and treatments from the wonderful physicians and staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and at their location at South Shore Hospital since my parents moved up to Massachusettes in 2021.

My Dad was always impressed and held his medical care team at Dana Farber in the highest regard. They played a huge part in enabling the last two years of his life to be filled with a lot of laughter, great food, good times and a whole lot of love.

I will be forever grateful for the care the Dana Farber team showed my Dad over the last two years, until the very end of his life when he passed on September 4, 2023.

Dana Farber has coordinated efforts so that all funds raised will go directly to Dr. Winer's research. Dr. Winer treated my dad at Dana Farber in Boston for the last 2 years. My Dad always appreciated Dr. Winer's guidance and care but maybe most looked forward to the Chinese food my parents would get following these appointments.

I hope you’ll join me in expressing our joint gratitude for the love and care they showed my Dad by donating any amount below.
