This year I will be running in the 2024 Falmouth Road race with the Dana-Farber team in honor of my grandfather. My grandfather was one of the most amazing people in my life. He was kind, hardworking, thoughtful, and could always make light of a tough situation. He was more than a grandfather to me but, was a father figure. In 2011, he was sadly diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. This was an extremely hard diagnosis for both him and my family. The amazing doctors and staff at Dana-Farber helped to support him and my family during this difficult time. Thanks to their amazing efforts, he was able to beat cancer and live for five more years. He was able to see many milestones in my family’s life such as my graduation from highschool and my brother’s graduation from middle school. Although he sadly passed away in 2016, his memory lives on and I know he is always with me. I cannot wait to run this race in honor of the amazing man I called my Papa.
