We are at it again! In 2022, Saila and I will be running our 5th marathon together (our 3rd Boston Marathon!). This year, to spice things up, Jay, Saila's husband is coming along for the challenge taking on his first (and last according to him) marathon! Join us as we out-run cancer one step, one mile, one marathon at a time!
More About Saila:
On June 30, 2017, as a 35 year-old non-smoker, Saila was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. JAKSAA is Saila’s motto. Translating to “STRENGTH” in her native Finnish language, this word encapsulates Saila’s approach – Dream big and fight together until we win. PERIOD. Cancer won’t define her or her story, but she can’t do it alone. With your support, we have already raised over $300k in funding for new treatments for lung cancer, but we aren't done yet.
Saila's doctor since 2017, Dr. Pasi Janne, and his team are changing the way lung cancer is treated. Their research and development has enabled her to continue living life to the fullest with her husband Jay and 2 year old bernedoodle Merlin. Our goal is to raise $1M to directly benefit Dr. Janne's life saving research at Dana Farber. Please donate via this page to help us get to our goal and beyond!
