Without Dana Farber and their fantastic research and treatments, many, including myself, wouldn't be here today.
I was first diagnosed in May 2015 with stage 1 Breast cancer. I had a 2% chance of it coming back after treatment and double mastectomy. In May of 2021, I found out it had returned and was in multiple locations. At the time of my first diagnosis, Dana Farber had so many more medications available for me. After my initial 12-week chemo treatment, my maintenance chemo had done such a fantastic job I had multiple PET scans that showed no evidence of disease. Unfortunately, my meds aren't working, and new spots have appeared. So, thankfully, due to all the money raised by so many, Dana Farber has many options for me.
While I'm no runner, raising money to contribute to Dana Farber and their research is a small way for me to give back and help someone else get the medicine they need to survive.
On August 18, 2024, I will be running in my second Falmouth road race(hopefully, I will do better this year 😁) in memory of our friend Mike, who lost his battle with cancer in July 2022, and those who still fight.
I appreciate any donations. Without your help, it wouldn't be possible!
I appreciate your support! Together, we are helping Dana-Farber race toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
