On August 18, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners, including myself, will participate in the 52nd running of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race! I am training to run 7-miles along Cape Cod’s scenic coastline, while raising critical funds that directly support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute patients and families, in New England and around the world.
This year’s race will come just after the 10 year anniversary of my mom’s passing from ovarian cancer. While I haven’t gone a day without missing her, I will be forever grateful for the care she received from Dana Farber. My hope is that one day we will live in a world where no one has to deal with the pain that this dreaded disease can bring. I love you, Momma, and this one is for you.
