Why am I running? Because I am still here and able to run BECAUSE of Dana Farber Cancer Institute! After a breast cancer diagnosis in March 2012, I was very lucky to have Dana Farber in my corner. I am still receiving amazing care there 12 years later. In August 2018, my husband Gregg was diagnosed with melanoma. Again, Dana Farber provided the most up to date treatment plan. Gregg is 6 years away from his diagnosis this summer and for that we are very grateful.
Every mile and each donation, no matter the size, supports The Dana-Farber Campaign, the Institute’s ambitious, multi-year fundraising effort, focused on supporting revolutionary research, extraordinary care, exceptional expertise, and other priorities, to help Dana-Farber accomplish its mission of preventing, treating, and defying cancer. We have first hand knowledge of all they do for their patients.
On August 18, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners, including myself, will participate in the 52nd running of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race! I am training to run 7-miles along Cape Cod’s scenic coastline, while raising critical funds that directly support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute patients and families, in New England and around the world.
Thank you so very much for your support! Together, we are helping Dana-Farber race toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
Much love,
Cara and Team Power
