WHY I'M RUNNING THE BOSTON MARATHON

I'm running the Boston Marathon for Team Beans in honor of Francesca "Beans" Kaczynski who died from brain cancer at the end of 2020. She was just nine-months-old. Every dollar raised will support the newly established Infant Brain Tumor Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where Beans was treated.

Cancer has also touched my family. Both my grandmothers died from lung cancer in their 50s and my aunt passed away from breast cancer in her 40s. My mother survived a battle with breast cancer when I was in high school.

Since its founding in 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow’s cures through cutting-edge research. Thanks to your support, Dana-Farber continues to make strides towards the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
