In 2023, my father received the devastating diagnosis of cancer. Being away at college during this challenging time, I felt a strong desire to take action and contribute to the fight against cancer, not just for my father but for everyone battling this disease. That's when I discovered the Falmouth Road Race—an opportunity to raise funds for cancer research and make a difference in the lives of patients and their families.
As I prepared for my first race, more heartbreaking news came. In August my grandmother was also diagnosed with cancer. Despite living eight hours away and the distance making it difficult to visit her as often as I'd like, I knew I wanted to do something significant to honor both my father and grandmother, as well as everyone else enduring this challenging journey alongside their loved ones.
This is why I have decided to run my second Falmouth Road Race in 2024. Thanks to everyone for the unconditional support my family and I have received through this journey, and I hope to do my part in raising $1500.
