To My Friends and Family:
On August 18th, I will be dragging my tired legs out of retirement from running and road racing to take my best shot at the 52nd Falmouth Road Race on Cape Cod. While it’s no marathon, this race has seen some of the fastest runners in the world for over half a century, and I have dreamed of racing it since I first started running when I was in 9th grade (that would be 1979, believe or not!).
But it’s not just about me—what really got me off my butt was the invitation from a young neighbor to raise critical funds that directly support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute patients and families, in New England and around the world. Like most of you, I’m sure, my life has been touched by quite a few important people to me and loved ones who have lived with, fought, and in some cases been beaten by cancer.
Each donation, no matter the size, supports The Dana-Farber Campaign, the Institute’s ambitious, multi-year fundraising effort, focused on supporting revolutionary research, extraordinary care, exceptional expertise, and other priorities, to help Dana-Farber accomplish its mission of preventing, treating, and defying cancer.
Any donation is appreciated. Would you consider committing $25, $50, or even $100? Thank you for your support!
