On August 18, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners, including myself, will participate in the 52nd running of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race! I am training to run 7-miles along Cape Cod’s scenic coastline, while raising critical funds that directly support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute patients and families, in New England and around the world.
Every mile and each donation, no matter the size, supports The Dana-Farber Campaign, the Institute’s ambitious, multi-year fundraising effort, focused on supporting revolutionary research, extraordinary care, exceptional expertise, and other priorities, to help Dana-Farber accomplish its mission of preventing, treating, and defying cancer.
I am so excited to be running for Adelia the Wonder Girl, alongside my sister who is Adelia’s second grade teacher. Adelia has been diagnosed with a rare brain tumor, Diffuse Midline Glioma. My sister often speaks of Adelia’s resiliency and courage. It’s an honor to represent Adelia and raise funds for Dana-Farber and the Brain Tumor Center.
This center strives to develop personalized, precision medicine, where they
can deliver rapid real-time molecular analysis to allow more effective
treatments to start sooner. The center will also be developing support
systems for families, a vital necessity and currently a missing piece in
providing high quality continuum of care.
Thank you for your support! Together, we are helping Dana-Farber race toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
