In 2021, I suddenly and unexpectedly lost my 8-month old son Sami, likely due to an undetermined cardiac event that was not previously detected and likely could not have been prevented. While seeking a grief community in the wake of his loss, I realized that there were so many bereaved parents and caretakers experiencing the same pain.
One of these families belonged to Francesca, the namesake for Team Beans, who suffered from infant brain cancer. She died just weeks before Sami, but instead of having a carefree nine months of life, she spent much of it in cancer treatment.
There was nothing we could do to help Sami and never had to see him suffer. For parents who have lost their children to cancer, that is not the case. In Sami's honor, I want to help kids like those he has likely befriended on the other side of life, and make sure nobody else knows this pain. This is part of a larger project to do good and make an impact in the world that Sami only had eight short months in, which you can learn more about here: https://www.wcpo.com/marketplace/positively-cincinnati/wyoming-businesses-pay-tribute-to-local-boy-who-lived-a-lot-in-a-short-time
