WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER
On August 18, my team, which includes my two older daughters and me, will run alongside hundreds of Dana-Farber runners in the 52nd running of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race! We are training to run 7-miles along Cape Cod’s scenic coastline, while raising critical funds that directly support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute patients and families, in New England and around the world.
Dana-Farber is particularly meaningful for my family since we lost both my mother-in-law and father-in-law to cancer. While they both lost the fight to cancer, we feel fortunate that their lives were extended due to the excellent care and treatment that was provided to them through Dana-Farber. This is one small way in which we want to give back so that other families in need have the opportunity that ours did.
Every mile and each donation, no matter the size, supports The Dana-Farber Campaign, the Institute’s ambitious, multi-year fundraising effort, focused on supporting revolutionary research, extraordinary care, exceptional expertise, and other priorities, to help Dana-Farber accomplish its mission of preventing, treating, and defying cancer.
