I am participating in the 2022 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
This is my 5th year as a walker, and this year will be a little more difficult because at the finish line we will be missing my dad.
As you all know he lost his battle with leukemia in March. The reason I walk and donate/raise money is to help all the patients at Dana-Faber.
In 2007 he was diagnosed with Myelodysplatic Syndrome. We went to Dana-Farber and they had a plan for his treatment. In early 2021, it progressed to leukemia. Dana-Farber came up with a plan. Unfortunately, he lost his battle in March 2022. Dana-Farber gave our family an extra 15 years that we got to spend with our father/grandfather.
My goal this year is to raise $500.00 to help other patients spend additional years with the their families.
