On Sunday, October 2, I will be participating in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk to raise funds for the Palliative Care program at the Boston Children's Hospital & Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
This will be my third year walking with the Kessler's Crew/PACT Pack team. The Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) brings together clinicians from Boston Children's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to assist primary health care teams, families, and children with serious illnesses/conditions. One hundred percent of the funds raised will go to support the PACT Quality of Life Fund, which provides life enhancing opportunities for PACT patients and their families, as well as their robust bereavement program.
I began walking in the Jimmy Fund Walk in 1997 in honor of my friend Jonathan, who lost his battle with Neuroblastoma when we were in second grade. Today, I am honored to continue walking in Jonathan's memory as part of the Kessler's Crew/Pact Pack team.
Please join me in my fundraising efforts for the Jimmy Fund to support the friends and family we know and love who have been touched by cancer.
