I am more committed than ever - will you join me?
Like a really bad dream, I've had to ask myself this question recently:
What do you do when you and your husband have both been diagnosed with cancer within a year of each other? First, you dig deep and do whatever it takes to move through it together. And, second, you participate in your 14th Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund marathon, of course!
I say participate because I don’t know what October 2nd will look like for me. The ideal scenario is that I lace up my sneakers in Hopkinton and walk the full 26.2 miles to Boston. If not that, then I will do whatever I can wherever I can that day. And that will be good enough this year because what really matters is that I continue to raise awareness and money so that incredible research and programs can continue at the hands of the amazing talent at Dana-Farber. I’ve witnessed the magic first hand and believe in the power of hope they offer all patients and caregivers who face this dreaded disease.
