Margaret was a loving and caring Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
She put her heart and soul into everything she set out to do. When she was diagnosed with cancer she only told a couple of close friends…. She didn’t want to worry her family at the time.
No one in her family knew about her illness until about 3 weeks before she passed away.
Margaret was an amazing woman and we all miss her terribly. Margaret passed away in 2016 of Ocular Melanoma.
Margaret created a video about her journey with Ocular Melanoma titled Ocular Melanoma: Hope Sweet Hope. To watch this video, please click here.
About the Zakim Center:
The Leonard P. Zakim Center for Integrative Therapies and Healthy Living at Dana-Farber is dedicated to the belief that cancer patients can enhance their quality of life through integrative therapies such as exercise. In fact, research continues to validate the value of regular exercise for cancer patients during and after their treatment. As such, the Zakim Center created an Exercise Program with group class offerings geared toward patients of all ages and functional abilities.
Since the pandemic, the Zakim Center launched virtual exercise programming bringing classes directly to patients in their homes and providing therapeutic benefits to anyone who needs them, regardless of financial situation or geographic location. As a result, attendance has increased by more than 300% with patients and survivors tuning in from all over the country. This new virtual platform is meeting a powerful need for expert, personalized virtual training for patients with cancer.
