My story is a happy one; I was diagnosed in Sept 2015 with carcinoid lung cancer, had surgery in Oct 2015, back to work a month later with a lovely L-shaped scar on my back as a reminder of just how blessed I am! Some are not so lucky.....if I started a list of the people I knew and loved who we’ve lost to cancer, my character count for this post would run out. That is NOT okay. As you can see from my shirt, 2020’s group of names had a few new ones to remember. My friend Bucky, a Weston firefighter with a heart of gold and an epic mustache....Jacqueline, a friend of my daughter’s who is recovering from breast cancer and kicking its ass.....and then there are the kids, Danny Sheehan and Quinn Waters, two of the sweetest little boys who are living the HELL that is treatment. Treatment which will hopefully save their young lives and allow them to live a full and rich life, cancer free. Treatment that will allow their families, especially Mom and Dad, the ability to sleep a full night without worrying (too much). Treatment funded by this walk, and the money you donate to me each and every year ❤ I know the last year has been extremely difficult on so many levels, but PLEASE give what you can. I DEEPLY APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU AND YOUR SUPPORT OF ME AND MY PASSION FOR THE JIMMY FUND.
