This year I will be walking in my 9th Jimmy Fund Walk! I began walking in 2014, in support of my dear friend Colleen Sullivan. Colleen was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2014. Because of the state of the art, compassionate care she received from Dana Farber, she is still here walking with our team as a SURVIVOR!
Colleen's father, David J Nelson, was an avid supporter of Dana Farber Cancer Institute. He never missed an opportunity to give back to the organization that helped save his daughter's life. Over the years, he walked along side us, cheered us on, supported us, made us laugh and showed his love and appreciation for all of our fundraising efforts. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly this past November. This year, it is our team's goal to continue to honor his legacy by walking in his honor in 2022. All of the money raised by our team this year will be donated in his name to Prostate cancer patient care and research.
When you make a gift to my Walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge research and compassionate patient care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can defy cancer!
