23.58 miles on 10/3/2021 plus 2.63 miles on 10/4/2021 equals 26.2 miles to support Dana-Farber

I was able to do 90% of the Walk -- 23.6 miles -- on Sunday, and
then did 2.6 more miles on Monday so I  could "declare victory" this year.  By
doing 23.6 on Sunday,  I did enough to feel comfortable that I could have
completed the whole distance it if I had brought a really good flashlight and rain boots 🙂.

But, rain or shine (or daylight or darkness), it was great to participate
again in the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai,
taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world in which all
cancers are preventable or can be detected and treated early-on.  My
husband and I are glad to support Dana-Farber with a financial contribution as well as me putting one foot in front of the other, and I hope you will be glad to contribute, too!

In looking back on these 30 years of walking, the progress made by Dana-Farber during the same time is amazing and heartwarming! Early detection and new techniques for treatment have enabled so many people I know to be free of cancer and others to have full productive lives despite cancer.  Dana-Farber's significant contributions in all areas of cancer research and treatment have made a difference to so many lives!  At the same time, I know (and I'm sure you also know) folks who passed away this year because of cancer: there is still more work to be done to make a difference for those whose cancers are still resistant.

When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and compassionate patient care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.  You can still contribute all the way until October 31st 🙂

Thank you for supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can conquer cancer!

Dedicating this walk, as always, to my Mom and Ray's Mom, who fought and endured cancer many years ago, to my Dad, who loved to walk, to all of you who help fight cancer by contributing on this walk page, and to those you honor and remember.
