For the sixth year this September 22rd I will be walking the Half Marathon segment of the 2019 Jimmy Fund Walk.  I will be walking in honor and memory of my wife Jeri who lost her battle after seven long years.  I also honor too many friends and relatives to fully enumerate.  And just in these past few months Shelley Seip Beeby, a classmate from Beloit College, and Basil Hakki, my mentor from my early days at Bell Labs, have succumbed to Cancer.

When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s aggressive cutting-edge research.  Spectacular results results are being achieved in a number of cancers using immunotherapy.  With your continued support more cancers may be cured with less or no body destructive surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.

The Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai raises the most money of any single day walk in the nation and has raised more than $135 million for the fight against cancer since 1989.
