On August 20 and 21, we heard stories of inspiration and hope from Dana-Farber patients, family members, doctors, and nurses as they joined athletes and local celebrities at the 18th annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon presented by Arbella Insurance Foundation. This 36-hour live broadcast at Fenway Park covered two Boston Red Sox games and raised millions of dollars to advance Dana-Farber’s lifesaving mission and make a difference in the lives of patients today while advancing tomorrow’s research.
The event began as a Radiothon in 2002, when WEEI Sports Radio Network teamed up with the Jimmy Fund and Boston Red Sox for a daylong broadcast to support Dana-Farber.
The next year, New England Sports Network (NESN) joined the cause, and the Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon was born.
Thanks to these long-standing media partnerships, the Boston Red Sox, and donors like you, the Radio-Telethon has raised a cumulative total of more than $53 million to support Dana-Farber.
