WHY WE ARE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

On February 18th, 2020 my beautiful and vibrant Mother In Law, Joan Frommer Bloom lost her courageous five week battle to colon cancer. She was a strong, healthy, energetic, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. The diagnosis was shocking. In her final days, she was surrounded by her amazing family who showered her with love, admiration, and her favorite songs. We think about her everyday and miss her so much.

On October 4th, Joan’s family and friends will participate in the 2020 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund VIRTUALLY, to take steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.

I will also be walking in memory of my special friend and hero, Bedonna Perry, who defied odds and fought ovarian cancer like a champ for 14 years. She is also dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.

Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
