When my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2016, we didn't know where to turn. We had the privilege of meeting with a specialist at Dana Farber who spent more than an hour with us. As we left the meeting, my husband was optimistic about his chances if he sought aggressive chemotherapy treatment.
He responded extremely well and by the end of 2016, we were convinced that he would be part of the 5% that survive this devastating cancer.
Sadly, he cancer returned and he passed away in January 2018. He is missed every day, and we will keep his memory alive by making a difference for pancreatic cancer patients.
This is why I and the Purple Striders team walk again in 2020. We walk to raise funds that are directed to pancreatic cancer research and patient support. We walk to raise awareness. We walk in memory of those did not survive.
Please join me in raising funds, join our team, and wage hope for a brighter future. Thank you.
