I hate cancer! It has been part of my life since 1982, with my Aunt Mary. In 1983 my mom passed away and my Nana in 1984, both from lung cancer. Then there were my cousins Buzzy, Bob and Danny. My uncles Ronnie, Max and Carlton. Jim's grandparents Barbara, George and Charlie and my paternal grandmother, Euna.
Fast forward to 2004, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and am a 16 year survivor. I watched my sister Cheryl in the fight of her life, and happy to say she is also a breast cancer survivor. January 2020, I lost a friend and cousin-in- law to cancer. Both were under 60 years old! Another cousin-in-law lost her battle in June. Several people in my life are battling cancer now. Can you see why I hate cancer?!
This October 4, I am walking the Jimmy Fund virtual walk. Although I am signed up for the 10K (6.2 miles), I will be walking 7 1/2 miles. Why? Because cancer patients go the extra mile to fight and survive. I am hoping to raise $500. Would you please consider donating and helping me in the fight against cancer? Every dollar helps.
