WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

In 2018, two solo walkers met on the dark, cold bus ride to the Boston Marathon starting line.  They decided to start the walk together.  By the time they crossed the finish line 26.2 miles later, they knew that this was the start of something much bigger than one long walk.

So the Purple Striders Team was created to focus on pancreatic cancer research and treatment.  This year we want to grow the team to raise awareness and support for one of the toughest cancers.  Too many people have lost someone to this disease.

Pancreatic cancer has one of the lowest survival rates. Research and new treatments are moving us in the right direction, but pancreatic cancer is still very difficult to detect early.  The funding we raise through Purple Striders goes directly to Dana Farber's innovative pancreatic cancer research, and compassionate patient care.

Together we can wage hope.  Together we change what it means to have pancreatic cancer.

Please tie up your sneakers and join our team.  Every step counts!
