Hiking to Conquer Cancer!

WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER

In the summer of 2022 our family of four was planning to hike the Colorado Trail, a 485 mile continuous foot-path through the Rocky Mountains from Denver to Durango.

Then in March, wife and mother Kelly, was diagnosed with a soft-tissue sarcoma in her left leg. At first it was unclear what the possible implications of this might be. However, this April, a team of amazing Dana Farber surgeons was able to successfully remove the tumor while untangling it from the surrounding muscle and saving most of her quadriceps muscle.

Kelly is now regaining strength in her leg and is expected to eventually regain full function. She's not ready to climb mountains yet, but we will be bringing her along with us in spirit on the Colorado Trail this summer by dedicating our hike to her and the amazing staff at Dana Farber. Please help us support Dana Farber by donating and ensuring that this life-saving care will continue to be available for the next families that need it.

Dana-Farber runners set the pace in the fight against cancer by raising funds to support groundbreaking research and extraordinary patient care. Thanks to your support, Dana-Farber continues to make strides towards the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.

Since its founding in 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow’s cures through cutting-edge research.
