This year, it’s personal. The harsh realities of how cancer affects us all has hit close to home – Mike’s sister Sheila was diagnosed with breast cancer this past spring. Sheila, however, has not let this slow her down - completing the 20-mile Havasu Falls Trail hike in the window between surgery and chemo, traveling across the West to support her college-aged boys, and celebrating her last dose of chemo by running a Turkey Trot the following day!
Sheila is the toughest and strongest person we know, and she has inspired us to keep running to defy cancer just like she has done!
We run fro Dana-Farber because 100% of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
Thank you for your support! Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
