In memory of our dear friend, Amy Kawazoe, we are running the 2024 Boston Marathon for DFCI. Amy was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia in early 2023, which would take her from us later that year. Beyond being an incredible friend, Amy was an amazing sister, a cherished daughter, a loved wife, and truly the best mother to Charlie and dog mom to Maeby. Amy brought joy to so many lives with her intelligence, generosity, and unparalleled sense of sarcasm. We will hold Amy in our hearts every step of this journey.
After working as a research nurse at Dana Farber, Katie knows firsthand how your donation will lead to game-changing research and care at one of the best hospitals in the world. Dana Farber is a special place for anyone who has needed their services, so we are honored to support their research and strides for cancer treatments that will one day mean no one has to live with the pain of diagnosis or the loss of a loved one.
This would not be possible without each of you, and we greatly appreciate your support! If you have a loved one who has been diagnosed, please share their name and story so we can honor them along the way as well.
***Please consider asking about your employer's matching donations. Most companies are more than willing to do so!
In 2024, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners will take to the streets to participate in the 128th Boston Marathon®. The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team runs and raises funds with thousands of special people in mind. From Hopkinton to Boston, we carry thoughts of those people every step of the way.
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
Thank you for your support! Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
