In 2024, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners will take to the streets to participate in the 128th Boston Marathon®. The Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team runs and raises funds with thousands of special people in mind. From Hopkinton to Boston, we carry thoughts of those people every step of the way.
I will be running in honor of my Dad who has been battling Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer since early 2022. I have seen first hand the teams of doctors, nurses, support staff and volunteers at Dana Farber all working towards a common goal. The compassion they bring, the level of care they provide on a daily basis and perhaps most importantly the hope and the opportunity they provide for patients, their families and friends is immeasurable. As a family we could not be more thankful for the world class support, care and research provided by the team at Dana Farber that has allowed us to celebrate the arrival of his first grandchild (my son) this past November.
I hope that with the help of your generous contributions and all of the miles logged by this years DFMC Team we can be a few steps closer to finding new treatments and some day a cure for a disease that impacts so many of us. I am looking forward to having my Dad cheering me on come Marathon Monday and celebrating with him after the finish!
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
Thank you for your support! Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
