I am running the marathon to raise funds for Dana Farber, a renowned cancer research and treatment center. This decision is driven by a strong desire to honor and support my family members and dear friends who have faced the challenging journey that cancer presents.
In 2019, our family received the distressing news that my Aunt Chris was battling colon cancer. Witnessing her strength and determination during her fight against this disease was both inspiring and humbling. Aunt Chris was a beacon of resilience, and Dana Farber stood by her until the very end of her journey, providing exceptional care and support.
Additionally, in 2021, our family faced another daunting diagnosis: my niece Chloe was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), a rare type of cancer that affects soft tissue. Chloe's bravery and the unwavering support she received from Dana Farber's Jimmy Fund during her courageous fight underscore the critical importance of research, treatment, and compassionate care for those battling cancer. I am forever a member of Chloe's Sunshine Squad.
During this challenging period, our family's community has sadly witnessed several loved ones being diagnosed with cancer. Their experiences have reinforced my dedication to making a meaningful impact in the fight against this relentless disease.
In loving memory of Aunt Chris and in honor of Chloe's fight.
