Well kids, the rumors are true .... I'm running the 128th Boston Marathon this April 15, 2024
I'm built to run through brick walls, or as my dad always said: " you've got legs like an NFL running back"
- and he wasn't wrong
So why am I running? Because sometimes we have to do hard things
Again, if you know me, you know I'm down for throwing out a challenge or taking one
I have a friend who has been struggling with an addiction issue for some time ( and who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2022)
In October I challenged her to do the hardest thing she's ever done in her life
GET AND STAY SOBER
And in turn I would do the thing that would be the hardest thing for me to do and also something I said I'd never ever do: RUN THE BOSTON MARATHON
She accepted my challenge and went into treatment I started running the following day It's January and I'm on pace and up to 8 miles And let me tell you: This is goddamn hard But what she is doing is monumental Im just keeping my end of the bargain
Thanks to a good friend who is on the Dana Farber team, I have secured a charity number!
This is where you all come in!
I've committed to raising $15k for Dana Farber for cancer research
100% of the money I raise goes directly to research
Will you (virtually) hop on my shoulders and help me raise this money?
Every single donation no matter how much gets me that much closer to my goal
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, in advance
Tara
