Hi!
I know what you are thinking... 26.2 miles? Sounds far. But there is a method to the madness.
In 2018 my mom and I walked 500 miles through Spain on the Camino de Santiago. During this trip we laughed, sang to Disney songs, and even cried a little. When we returned home, I moved to Texas and my mom went to the ER with what we thought was Pneumonia. It turns out my mom had a tumor in her lung, despite never smoking a day in her life.
After the tumor was removed, we moved on with life. Four years later the cancer said " I'll be back" and returned in the form of stage 4 pelvic cancer. The floor dropped out from under me for a second time as I worried about losing my mom again.
Today, we take it day by day, scan by scan, visit by visit to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. With state of the art care, compassion, and research they treat nearly 400,000 patients annually, my mom included. Running 1,200 clinical trials annually your donation will contribute to an institution that is internationally renowned for blending cutting edge research and clinical excellence resulting in gains both in cancer research as a whole and in individual lives being changed for the better.
I have always wanted to run the Boston Marathon, and I know in my heart that this the year to lace up my sneakers and run for the cause.
Please help me in reaching my goal to help my mom and others like her, beat cancer for good.
