I'm so excited to be joining the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team for the 128th running of the Boston Marathon. Over the next few months, hundreds of Dana-Farber runners will take to the streets to participate, running and raising funds with thousands of special people in mind.
One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
Running has been my constant companion through the transitions of my adult life. It has been my outlet for anxiety, my way of familiarizing myself with new cities and states I've moved to, and a personal challenge ever-evolving.
This marathon is more than just a personal challenge; it's a tribute to the incredible work of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Having witnessed the impact of fine cancer institutions on my own family members, I understand the difference they make in the lives of those battling this disease.
Here's to making every step count for those who fight the toughest battles.
