I lost my grandma in August to an unexpected and quick-spreading renal cancer. Earlier in life, she beat breast cancer twice thanks to successful treatment and outstanding care at Dana-Farber. My grandma was a philosophy professor with a wise outlook on life and how to overcome its greatest challenges. In honor of her fighting spirit, my mom and I will be running the 128th Boston Marathon on April 15th, 2024, as members of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team. Running Boston has always been a dream of ours and we know that grandma would be so proud to see us face this challenge together.
