A little bit about our team
Our family has used the moniker Casa M for as long as I can remember. It has been a fun way of combining our relative first initials (Craig, Annika, Sheridan, Annelie) into a clever acronym specific to our family unit. This year the CAS (minus Annika - an equally important supporter), in CASA is attempting the 26.2 miles that only the C has run before.
Annelie and I decided to run and fundraise this year because our family has been getting along too well recently, and we wanted to stir the pot and increase the competitiveness that has impeded our ability to play family doubles since 2012. On a serious note and more importantly however, Annelie and I decided to join the Dana Farber team because we have seen, through our father's participation, the incredible impact the team has had on raising funds towards a cancer free world. We have all been touched by cancer in one way or another, and every mile the three of us run during training and on April 15th will be run in the memory of friends and family we have lost to the insidious disease - notably both of Craig's parents and our grandparents, and many of Craig's very good friends.
This year we are each striving to raise $13.1k ($39,000 in total). It is an ambitious goal, but one we are sure we can reach with the generosity of our friends and family. One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.
Thank you for your support! Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
