On Sunday, October 6, 2024, I will once again be participating in the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk: Your Way presented by Hyundai. To keep our community safe, this year, I won’t be heading into Boston to walk the famed marathon route. I’ll be making my own route, walking on my granddaughter’s First Birthday.
I continue to do this to honor my son Steve. But this is also for my many friends who have fought cancer, and my courageous breast cancer patients at the Winchester Hospital Breast Care Center.
Thank you for all your support in the past. This is my 21st year, and I am asking once again for your generosity. Last year I raised over $3,000; this year I hope to match or beat that amount. Bob and I have been volunteer parent advisers to the Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT), a joint effort between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Children’s Hospital Boston. These medical professionals are dedicated to providing palliative care to children who are in advanced stages of disease, and helping their families. Any funds I raise will be specifically earmarked for PACT.
